U.S. President Barack Obama witnessed the signing of the purchase of various variants of passenger aircraft Boeing B-737 by the national airline Lion Air from aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Based on a press release circulated the Boeing, Lion Air will buy 230 units of the B-737 the newest generation, which consists of 201 units of B-737 MAX, 29 B737-900ER, and get right to purchase an additional 150 units of B-737 variants that have not been specified . The total purchase of 230 B-737 aircraft has reached 21.7 billion U.S. dollars (about Rp195, 2 trillion), which is the largest aircraft orders in Boeing history, both in number and value of the total aircraft dollarnya.

Lion Air is the airline’s first users variant B-737-900ER in the world and now, Albaugh said, the airline will become the first Asian airline to order B-737-MAX.
B-737 MAX is the latest variant of the medium range airliner Boeing, which will replace the generation of B-737 NG (Next Generation). B-737 MAX will be developed from existing variants, namely B-737-700, B-737-800NG, and B-737-900ER. In Indonesia, a variant B-737-800NG operated by Garuda Indonesia airlines.
