The current Infor CEO, Charles Phillips, is expected to be a major contributor to the company’s upcoming success on moving to a larger international market. He is a bachelor’s degree holder in Computer Science from United States Air Force Academy. He also gained his Juris Doctorate (JD) degree holder from the New York Law School. Later, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Hampton University. With his outstanding academic background, he easily made his way to good positions in several large IT companies during the early stages of his career. During those times, many of his superiors and colleagues already noticed his great potential as a leader. Eventually, he was able to handle managerial and administrative positions in the prestigious companies he worked with.
It was in 2003 when Charles Phillips joined Oracle Corporation, an American multi-international computer technology corporation. This corporation specializes in designing, developing, and marketing hardware systems and enterprise software. Its main product or flagship is Database Management Systems or DMS. In this company, Charles Phillips worked enthusiastically along with other members of the executive team. He became a major contributor of the company’s great success in 2007 when it was hailed as the third largest software revenue, following Microsoft and IBM. In September 2010, he vacated his position and was replaced by former HP CEO, Mark Hurd.
After seven years with the company, Charles Phillips left Oracle Corporation and decided to accept the Chief Executive Position (CEO) at Infor. The former CEO of this company, Jim Schaper, remained as the Chairman of the company. He believes that Mr. Phillips is capable of bringing great developments to the company more than he did during his term. Meanwhile, Mr. Phillips’ over 20 years of experience in this industry is perhaps enough reason for the rest of Infor’s board members to invest their trust in them. Up to now, Infor is on its way to its next development stage. As Mr. Phillips joins Infor, Jim Schaper and other Infor executives believe that it will not be long before the company’s goals will be achieved.
